In Japan what exactly do they teach there students about WW2?

It is true that we do not learn much about wwii at school. But we do learn a lot about post Meiji Restoration history from the media, newspapers, and books. A Huge number of publications on wwii are available everywhere. Majority of us have extensive knowledge of Japan-Sino war (1894-1895), Japan-Russo war (1904-1905), Japan-China war (1937-1945) and "wwii" (1941-1945 because we did not participate in the war until we attacked Pearl Harbor on Dec 8, 1941, JST). Our school textbooks have nothing to do with our extensive knowledge of what happened in Japan in late 19th century and the 20th century thoroughly. We learn it mainly from the media.
