Word did not recover my writing after it crashed...help?

Is there anything and I mean anything at all I could do to recover what I wrote? I copy and pasted one word to Microsoft Word and it crashed. Well I re-opened it and it recovered everything( thank goodness). But I was so thoughtless and wanted to complete this sentence and it crashed again for no reason as I was typing. I SHOULD have saved and I am beating myself up for it now because when I re-opened it again it did not recover it this time. Is there anything I can do to get it back? I can re-write it but I'd really rather not. Especially since I had captured everything so wonderfully and written it so greatly the first time.
