Are physciatrists worthwhile?

I get the impression what they do is based on Freud from like 80 years ago. Freuds langauge and images seem to me to be highly debatable. Physciatry seems to me to be to be like an impeniterable priesthood kept safe from outside criticism by their hard to understand language. Does the emporer have no clothes? Has a physciatrist ever helped you, or someone that you know? What do others think?
